Special Constable Training Programme
To train you in the skills you will require as an operational
Special Constable, on successful completion of our recruitment
process you will be required to attend a five day practical
Induction course. The course consists firstly of a pre-read booklet
which you will be required to complete to gain a basic knowledge of
essential policing topics. The Induction course will then be held
in Inverness and will provide you with more specific knowledge and
skills to equip you for your role as a Special Constable within
Northern Constabulary. We run several Induction courses per year,
some from Monday to Friday and others over a long weekend.
After successful completion of the central Induction course, you
will receive monthly training sessions at your local station to
compliment the skills you will be developing during operational
duty. These mandatory training sessions will take 12 months to
complete, thereafter, further regular training events will be
organised to develop your skills and abilities further.
