Benefits
Pension Scheme
All employees are provided with the opportunity to join the
Local Government Pension Scheme on appointment. The rate of monthly
contribution is 6%. (There is a facility to opt out of the scheme
or purchase additional years' service or Additional Voluntary
Contributions). Full details of the scheme will be forwarded to new
employees.
Sickness
Employees are entitled to occupational sick pay and/or statutory
sick pay provided they meet the requirements set down in both the
national conditions of service and Department of Employment Service
regulations.
Maternity/Paternity schemes
All female employees who become pregnant have rights in respect
of maternity leave and maternity absence. These rights are
statutory and are in accordance with the Scheme of Conditions of
Service relating to each employee. Separate arrangements apply for
paternity leave.
Removal/Legal expenses
Employees will be entitled to claim approved removal and/or
legal expenses under Northern Constabulary's scheme as long as they
have been formally notified that they are entitled to claim such
expenses. Any entitlement would be specified in the advertisement
and at interview.
